HANDMADE IN ITALY
Every MIARUNA piece is created entirely by hand in Italy by a Ukrainian artisan, where traditional craftsmanship meets a distinctive personal vision.
From the first sketch to the final stitch, each stage is carried out individually and with close attention to detail. The leather is selected, cut and shaped by hand; the embroidery is created directly on the leather; and every component is carefully assembled and finished one piece at a time.
MIARUNA is not built around mass production. The natural character of the leather, the subtle variations of handwork and the individuality of the embroidery mean that no two pieces can ever be exactly the same.
Creating slowly and by hand allows every detail to have a purpose — the proportions, the materials, the stitches, the colours and the symbols all become part of one complete story.
This is the essence of MIARUNA: craftsmanship made in Italy, shaped by Ukrainian roots, and created for one person at a time.

FROM AN IDEA TO A PIECE
Every MIARUNA piece begins with an idea — a shape, a detail, a symbol or a story that gradually takes form.
The design is developed by hand, from the first sketches and patterns to the choice of leather, colours, embroidery and construction. Each element is considered individually, allowing the character of the future piece to guide the process rather than following a standard template.
Patterns are prepared and adjusted for each design, leather components are cut by hand, and every detail is carefully considered before assembly begins.
This slow and thoughtful process means that no two MIARUNA pieces are exactly alike. Each one carries the marks of its creation and becomes an individual object made to have its own character and story.
ITALIAN LEATHER
Leather is at the heart of every MIARUNA piece. I carefully select high-quality Italian leather for its natural beauty, strength and ability to develop character over time.
Unlike mass-produced accessories designed for rapid and repeated production, each MIARUNA piece is made individually by hand. The leather is cut, shaped, embroidered and assembled with careful attention to every detail, allowing the material to be treated according to its natural characteristics rather than adapted to an industrial process.
Genuine leather is a durable material that, with proper care, can accompany its owner for many years. Instead of simply wearing out, quality leather gradually develops a natural patina — subtle changes in colour, softness and texture that make the piece increasingly personal.
Handcrafting also allows construction details, edges, stitching and stress points to receive individual attention throughout the making process. The result is not a disposable fashion accessory, but a piece created with longevity in mind — one that can age beautifully and carry the traces of the life lived with it.
A MIARUNA bag is made not for a season, but to become part of your story.
EMBROIDERY ON LEATHER
Embroidery is one of the defining elements of MIARUNA. Each motif is embroidered by hand directly onto genuine leather, stitch by stitch, becoming an integral part of the piece rather than a decoration added afterwards.
Working with leather is very different from embroidering fabric. Every hole must be carefully planned and placed before the thread passes through it — once the leather is pierced, the mark remains. This requires precision, patience and an understanding of how the material behaves.
For my embroidery, I use exclusively German Gütermann threads, chosen for their exceptional quality, colour stability and strength. Through continuous use, they have proven highly reliable in real-life conditions, maintaining their appearance and durability even when exposed to sunlight, moisture and occasional rain. Their strength allows the embroidery to remain an enduring part of the piece as the leather itself naturally changes and develops character over time.
Many MIARUNA embroideries carry more than a decorative purpose. Symbols, Ukrainian-inspired motifs, personal names, words or meaningful messages can be transformed into patterns, giving each piece its own hidden story.
No embroidery is mechanically reproduced. Every cross and every stitch passes through my hands, making each composition subtly different and impossible to repeat in exactly the same way.
It is not simply embroidery on leather. It is a story written in stitches.

MADE BY HAND, ONE DETAIL AT A TIME
Every MIARUNA piece is shaped through a sequence of processes carried out by hand. From cutting the leather and preparing each opening to joining the individual elements, finishing the edges, setting the hardware and giving the piece its final form — every stage requires time, precision and direct contact with the material.
The leather is cut and worked individually, allowing me to respond to its natural character rather than forcing it into the uniformity of industrial production. Holes are carefully positioned, components are aligned by hand, edges are gradually refined and finished, and hardware is installed one element at a time.
Handwork also leaves subtle traces of the person who created the piece. A stitch may sit slightly differently from the next, an edge may carry a barely perceptible variation, and two seemingly identical details may never be completely the same. These small differences are not flaws — they are a natural result of genuine craftsmanship and part of what makes each MIARUNA piece individual.
There is no production line behind a MIARUNA piece. Decisions are made throughout the process — by eye, by touch and according to the behaviour of the leather in my hands. The final shape develops gradually, detail by detail, until all the individual elements become one finished piece.
Made slowly. Made by hand. Made one at a time.
ONE OF ONE
Every MIARUNA piece has its own story. It is not created as part of a collection of identical objects, and it is never intended to become a serial copy.
A familiar shape may become the starting point, but the final piece is defined by its own combination of leather, colour, embroidery, thread, hardware and carefully considered details. These choices come together differently each time, giving every creation its individual character.
The natural variations of genuine leather and the character of handwork make exact repetition neither possible nor desirable. Even when a similar design is created again, subtle differences in the material, stitching, embroidery and finishing ensure that it will never be exactly the same.
This individuality is at the heart of MIARUNA. A piece is created for one person, to become part of one life and one personal story.
One person. One bag. One story.
MADE IN ITALY. ROOTED IN UKRAINE.
MIARUNA was born from the meeting of two cultures that are both part of my story.
Italy is where I create today — surrounded by a centuries-old tradition of leather craftsmanship and working with beautiful Italian leather chosen for its quality, character and ability to age with grace.
Ukraine is where my roots are. Its symbols, memories and visual language live in my embroidery, transformed into patterns stitched directly into leather. Some are inspired by Ukrainian motifs, while others carry personal words, names or meanings hidden within their design.
I do not try to reproduce tradition literally. I carry it with me and allow it to become something new through my own hands, experience and imagination.
In every MIARUNA piece, Italian material and craftsmanship meet Ukrainian heritage and a personal story. Two places, two cultures — connected in one object made slowly, consciously and by hand.
This is what MIARUNA means to me:
Handmade in Italy. Rooted in Ukraine. Created to carry a story.
